Our Story

Sun Moon Company was founded in 1996 by Gahan Garner. From the beginning, Gahan's vision was to offer simple, characteristic gemstones showcased in elegant and durable high quality settings. Today, we produce over 500 unique pieces a year, which are sold to selective gift shops and collectors around the globe. We are located in the quaint town of Occidental, nestled in the heart of Sonoma County, California.

Gahan started in the gemstone business in 1991, working for Pan Geo Minerals in Sebastopool, California. While with Pan Geo, Gahan cut thousands of pairs of chrysoprase tear drops and points, and developed an undying appreciation of the beauty and uniqueness of multi-colored stones. At the time, even the highly regarded Tiffany & Co had their chrysoprase cabochons cut by Pan Geo. Gahan also gained experience under the astute supervision of legendary bead maker Bob Hall, where he learned the fine art of handcrafting gem quality beads. Today, Gahan and Sun Moon Company remain devoted to using extraordinary stones of natural color, and combining them with high-quality, unique settings to create gorgeous jewelry that lasts a lifetime.
